IN-BETWEEN
2016 REDCAT performance: IN-BETWEEN
Program excerpt:
Disselkoen is a Los Angeles native that works with performance and installation to explore identity and belonging. People, objects, group activities and interactive spaces are what viewers experience when seeing her work. Striving to work around constructions of power that inform art production, viewership and participation she creates encounters that are participatory and directed by the people that are involved. Through the use of event based situations Disselkoen aims to connect contemporary issues of identity and the scholarship of interpersonal relations.
